When Meals on Wheels delivered its first 15 meals in December 1969, no one could have imagined the organization would produce more than 60,000 meals in 2006 with demand expected to reach 124,000 by the year 2020!  As we approach our 39th year, our vision is clear and strong:  to provide a tasty, hot, nutritious meal to our Boulder neighbors who need our service -- regardless of race, creed, political views, age or income!

In a nutshell:
  • Volunteer drivers deliver 200 hot meals daily, 5 days a week, year round to Boulder area clients who are confined to their homes.
  • We serve lunch to 60-70 guests every weekday at Café Classico located at 909 Arapahoe Avenue, in Boulder.
  • 80-120 guests enjoy dinner and a show each Tuesday evening at Café Classico.
  • We serve more than 600 home delivery clients.
  • 31% under age 60
  • 25% age 60-79
  • 44% over 80
  • 30% cannot afford to pay more than $1/meal, some pay nothing
  • In 2006, 416 volunteers donated nearly 10,000 hours! If we had to hire staff to fulfill our mission, the annual cost would have been nearly $200,000.
